A crater that is 30 meters deep and 69 meters wide keeps burning near Turkmenistan’s Karakum Desert. It is the “Door To Hell.”
The Darvaza Crater is filled with fire everywhere that burns natural gas, and you can expect nothing but the heat to hit your face.
The Door to Hell is a volatile place where scientists and soil observers can dig into the sand and collect some samples.
In 1971, the Soviet Union Army practiced massive drills when they accidentally found an underground cavern full of natural gas, leaving it burning forever.
You can visit it during the night if you truly wish to witness orange-hued flames, but be sure to keep plenty of time with yourself. The location is a bit inaccessible.
