Hyderabad To Coorg Route Options
There are three safe route options while traveling to Coorg from Hyderabad.
- Route 1:
The first route from Hyderabad to Coorg passes via Kurnool, Anantapur, Bangalore, Mysore, and Kushalngar. This route via NH 44 is the shortest.
- Route 2:
If you want a longer detour, you can plan a road trip via this route via SH 71. It goes through Kurnool, Anantapur, Penukonda, Sira, Hassan, and Kushalnagar.
- Route 3:
The third route from Hyderabad to Coorg passes through Mahboobnagar, Raichur, Bellary, Hiryur, Tiptur, Hassan, and Kushalnagar.
In this route, Mahboobnagar will be a major stopover. It has the Golconda Mine, which is said to be the origin of the Kohinoor diamond.

Is Driving To Coorg Difficult?

Struggles begin once again on the Mysore to Kushalnagar road via Hunsur. There is a lot of traffic on the single-lane road.
Furthermore, the Ghat section starts after Kushalnagar. So, here, the roads are not straight. During the 1-hour journey from Kushalnagar to Madikeri, you must drive through twists and turns.
Having said that, the Ghats never get very steep unless you are driving to the interiors.
