At a 1478-meter elevation, Nandi Hills is probably the most popular weekend getaway in Bangalore. It is also a suitable place for a one day trip from Bangalore. It is a holy site with the presence of the Brahmashram, Bhoga Nandeeshwara Temple, and Yoga Nandeeshwara Temple. Further, it is historically important because of the Muddena-Halli Museum and Tipu Sultan Fort.

Kolar is the land of legends or Avantika-Kshetra. Historians have claimed the existence of Kolar from the 4th century. It was also the fighting ground for the Cholas and Chalukyas, two important dynasties in Southern India as well as in the history of India.
Further, the Someshwara, Kotilingeshwara, and Kurudumale Ganesha temples showcase architectural excellence, and devotees visit these temples in great numbers. Moreover, don’t forget to visit the Kolar Gold Fields.
Srirangapatna

If you want to enjoy a walk-down history, Srirangapatna is the place for you. The Tipu Sultan Gambuz or Mausoleum and Tipu Sultan Palace make this place significant. The Dariya Daulat Bagh, made by Tipu Sultan, is another hotspot in Srirangapatna for history lovers.
Srirangapatna is also home to the much-revered Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple. The history of the temple dates back to 984 CE and is believed to have been constructed during the Western Ganga dynasty. You can also visit Jama Masjid here. The 1784 mosque made by Tipu Sultan stands out for its architectural excellence.
Hogenakkal Falls

Kunti Betta
Kunti Temple is an ancient religious site in Kunti Betta, and it is also the base camp before you start your trek. The landmark hills of Kunti Betta have many trekking trails. Further, you can enjoy an immersive experience sitting by the Thonnur Lake or Kunti Kund.
Trekking in Kunti Betta comes with a moderate difficulty level. You will have to cover around 2 Kms one way for trekking.
You have to drive for around three hours to reach the Kunti Betta trekking base camp. The distance is around 130 Km from Bangalore.
Moreover, to explore the trekking trails and enjoy the natural beauty to the fullest, you can visit Kunti Betta from around September to February.
Shivanasamudra Waterfalls
Shivanasamudra Waterfalls is one of the best places to visit if you are making a solo trip from Bangalore. You will find solace as you reach the waterfalls after a 133 km and 3-hour-long journey from Bangalore.
The branches of River Cauvery falling down the rocks make you feel the power of the divine feminine. Especially if you are a woman traveling solo from Bangalore, it can be the place to regain confidence and belief in your abilities.
