But for the epicurean mind seeking an in-depth culinary experience and gastronomic satisfaction, here are the seven best restaurants located in Ravenna, Italy.

1. Ca’ de Vèn:  

On the top of our list featuring the best of Ravenna, we have Ca’ de Vèn, a large medieval wine store featuring tasting menus of the all-elusive Romagna cuisine with the renowned antipasti, making it worth a visit!

“Traditional home-style food, reminiscent of what it might have been like to dine out a hundred years ago. The food was well prepared. I really love the atmosphere in the main hall and felt that I had been transported to another time.” – P. Grazini.

2. Osteria Il Paiolo:  

Osteria Il Paiolo is the next best destination featuring our favorite food stops at Ravenna! This informal restaurant has a beautiful terrace where they serve piadina, pasta, seafood, meat dishes, and, of course, wine.

“Stunning food, lovely venue and great staff. They literally make the food in front of you. You can watch them folding ravioli behind a glass screen. Prices are very reasonable and because its not in the center its quiet and peaceful. Loved it here, would highly recommend.” – S Atkins-Steel.

3. Trattoria La Rustica:  

If you are planning to visit a friendly trattoria, then Trattoria La Rustica is in the third spot – because, oh-my-god, the food! You can try out traditional Romagna dishes such as filled flatbread, stuffed pasta, and rabbit.

“It was excellent.  Everything we ordered, including dessert, was very good and homemade.  The staff is very friendly.  The restaurant is small, so you have to be lucky to get a free seat or make a reservation in advance.” – Zoja Bolčina Ravnikar.

4. Osteria Passatelli:  

Osteria Passatelli is a contemporary Italian restaurant that has an open kitchen. This modern trattoria serves different Romagna dishes, has cookery classes on offer, and hosts events with live music. And we had a great time here – so brownie points for you guys!

“I’ve tried many Italian restaurants, but none as good as this one. If you want to eat in Ravenna, it’s only here. It’s a beautiful space, with great food and friendly service. I recommend the seafood risotto and the tiramissa. The chardonnay we tried was a great combination for the meal.” – Karolína Havlová.

5. La Trattoria:  

The best part about eating at La Trattoria is how quiet and cozy the vibe was – and being in our late 20s, it’s exactly what we needed! Plus, the friendly service and the delicious food all add up to the setting.

“After one week in Italy, we finally got into a real nice restaurant, excellent food, very polite but friendly service. The dinning room is fairly agreeable. Excellent address, booking a table might very well be key.” – Michel.

6. Amaranto:  

Finally, some respite for our vegan friends! Yes, Ravenna is not all about meat and fish – if you are a proud vegan and you have been wondering what to eat on your trip to this beautiful Italian city, then Amaranto is your spot!

“Great vegan Restaurant! The food was really delicious, the inside of the Restaurant was really lovely, the staff was very friendly, and the Owner was nice 🙂 I can recommend this place, if you are in the City, you have to go to this Restaurant!” – Aneko.

If you love traditional Romagna dishes such as grilled meat and stuffed past in a comfy place accompanied by a sidewalk patio, then La Gardèla is an ideal destination. And again, the food always tastes so much better when you are sitting in a cozy diner instead of an overcrowded restaurant (that’s our perspective – please don’t take it otherwise).
