1. Trou Aux Biches Beach

Location: Northern Coast of Mauritius 

Best Time to Visit: June to October

Despite being a popular destination for snorkeling and swimming, Trou Aux Biches Beach is known for its peaceful ambiance. 

Trou Aux Biches Beach, meaning “Deer’s Hole,” is associated with French colonization here. It is even present in the Lislet-Geoffroy map prepared in 1807. 

In the 19th century, it was only a fishing village. However, today, it is one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. 

2. Ile Aux Cerfs

Location: Eastern Coast of Mauritius 

Best Time to Visit: October and November 

Snorkeling at Ile Aux Cerfs is a dream for honeymooners. Further, the white sandy beach, turquoise lagoons, and luxurious vegetation here are a treat for the eyes. 

When at this privately-owned island, you must also visit the Ile aux Cerfs Golf Club, designed by Bernhard Langer. A two-time Masters champion. 

3. Flic En Flac Beach

Best Time to Visit: June to September

Flic En Flac Beach, one of the largest beaches in Mauritius, is known for its amazing ocean views (the Indian Ocean) and wonderful sunsets. 

You can also try watersports here to have some fun together. After a long and fulfilling day, gorge on the best Mauritian food here with your special one. 

Flic En Flac, or the free flat land beach, has a long stretch of white sand, and you can enjoy diving at the Cathedral dive site and Snake Reef. 

4. World of Seashells

Do you also like the quaint little things like me? The World of Seashells in Mauritius has one of the most beautiful collections of seashells in the world. 

Until you pay a visit, you won’t believe that it’s a museum with 8000 shell pieces collected from all over the world. 

Further, you can capture the photographs of these beautiful seashells and learn about them as cameras are allowed inside the museum. 

5. Grand Baie Beach

Grand Baie Beach is the best place to enjoy the vibrant nightlife by the sea. Also, the restaurants and bars at Grand Baie serve amazing local cuisines for your gastronomic delight. 

Further, for some adrenaline rush, you can try the following activities at Grand Baie Beach.

Le Morne Beach is a great place to be a part of adventurous water sports. You can also indulge in the beauty of the place and behold the magical sunrise and sunset. 

Further, this beach is home to endemic plants, and you can hike to Le Morne Brabant, a UNESCO World Heritage Site

Le Morne Brabant was used as a fortress or a refuge for escaped slaves in the 18th and 19th centuries. 

“It is a symbol of slaves’ fight for freedom, their suffering, and their sacrifice, all of which have relevance beyond its geographical location, to the countries from which the slaves came – in particular the African mainland, Madagascar, India, and South-east Asia- and represented by the Creole people of Mauritius and their shared memories and oral traditions.

Chamarel’s Seven Colored Earth Park is a geopark that focuses on the education and preservation of geology. Along with the colorful geology of the park, you will also love the Chamarel Waterfall, the largest in Mauritius

Congregated in a valley, the ground here has a sandy texture and multiple colors. The change of colors happens because of various scientific and chemical processes. 

The colors that instantly grab your attention in this geopark are purple, red, cyan, and black. 

8. Mauritius Aquarium

Does the marine life fascinate you and your partner? For some geeky fun, visit Mauritius Aquarium. Here, the best of marine life is preserved inside a well-lit pool and tanks, and you will get to meet the following marine creatures.

Black River Gorges National Park houses Alexandra Waterfalls, two rapids facing each other across a deep gorge beneath. These are called Eastern Alexandra Fall and Western Alexandra Fall. 

The waterfalls are surrounded by lush green vegetation and scenic beauty. Also, if you want to explore this place more, you can explore the hiking trail to Cascade de Galet, another waterfall nearby. 

The way to Alexandra Waterfalls is easy, and hikers of any skill level can explore it. However, beware of the Macaques on the route.
