A must visit for anyone who’s in Taipei. The level of service is great here. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The food is very good and is always on point. The soup dumplings are the best I’ve tried anywhere. Fried rice with prawns, very good. Simply said, everything was delicious!! The chocolate dumplings were surprisingly good. Not too sweet and had a rich chocolate flavour. I would say the prices are not expensive even from an international perspective. This Taipei 101 branch has a prime location as well. Well worth a visit. A tip is to be there right when they open or otherwise you’ll most likely have to queue to get a table. No bookings.

Shin Yeh Taiwanese Cuisine Main Restaurant

I suggest you make a reservation and dine in. The menu is with English and Japanese. Generally I will give it a 4.5 stars, but the great service made it earn an extra 0.5 points. Highly recommend for the first bite of a typical Taiwanese meal. Personal recommend pork liver and it’s Taro rice noodle! Pork liver is well cooked with a nice sauce and no smelly flavor. The taro rice noodle is speechless. The taro made the soup so sweet and fresh! The taro is cooked until half melted which is the best condition in my opinion. The price is a bit higher than average restaurant. Credit card accepted.

Lin Dong Fang Beef Noodle

One of the best beef noodle soups I’ve ever had in my life. The broth was delicious, rich in flavour, the noodles springy and tasty, and the beef just melted in my mouth. I recommend the large beef noodle soup or the half beef half tendon for those that like tendons. One thing to note was the dirty tables (mine had dried fat/soup) and the poor attitude of the service staff (in particular the waitress).

The braised pork belly is a must-eat dish. I’ve had plenty of pork belly dishes, but this easily is the best I’ve had. The pork belly is so tender that it melts in my mouth. The sauce has a tinge of natural sweetness from the dates. For seafood, I ordered cuttlefish with soy sauce and sesame oil. It’s cooked well and not chewy. The restaurant has limited tables so do make a prior reservation. I was here for dinner on a weekday night and the place was full. Service was attentive and professional. Between the two of us, we ordered one meat dish (braised pork belly), one seafood dish (cuttlefish), a vegetable dish, two plain rice, and a pot of tea. We were so full that we could not have our desserts. Dinner costs us around 2500NTD. Good value for money, I must say.
