Treks in Himachal are abundant. However, all of them are usually categorized according to their difficulties. Therefore, I have taken it upon myself to discuss some of the best and most prominent Himachal treks of all time so that you can make an informed decision about your next adventure.  

Himachal From A Wanderer’s Perspective 

Wanderlust is a real thing. My mind stops functioning after spending an extended period of time in the urban jungle. As a result, I have to switch off my brain and go on an adventure to recharge my batteries. 

For me, this recharge comes in the form of traveling. I chose to go to places I had not been, saw the faces I had not seen, and heard a language I did not know. It feels therapeutic for me. It helps me break away from the rat race and rejuvenate.  

Recently, I took a trip down to Himachal Pradesh. It was everything I expected it to be: lush vegetation, snowcapped peaks, clear streams, and serenity. As a result, I have decided to dedicate this article to my latest love, Himachal Pradesh.  

Top Beginner’s Trek In Himachal 

Weirdly, I never fathomed the appeal of trekking. I found it pretentious. However, I am a changed man now. For me, trekking the unbeaten path is like meditating. It helps me center myself and deal with my mental knots. Treks in Himachal helped me do that. It provided me with an experience that I have never felt. Therefore, this article is more of a celebration of Himachal. 

Here are some of the most prominent beginner’s treks in Himachal that you should know. Let’s go! 

Kheerganga Trek

The Kheerganga trek of Kasol is one of the most prominent treks in Himachal. The tKheerganga trail stretches for 12 kms and only takes around one or two days to complete. As a result, this is perfect for somebody who has yet to gain experience in trekking.  

Malana Village Trek 

Malana Village might be famous for its psychoactive activities, but it is also one of the most sought-after treks in Himachal. The trail stretches for four kilometers and will take around five or six days to complete. Remember to try the iconic Malana Herb and some Maggie to make your experience worthwhile.  

Beas Kund Trek 

The trek is located in the beautiful Dhauladhar Range of the Himalayan Mountains. Beas kund is not just a prominent hiking trail; it also has tremendous historical significance. The trail stretches for just 15 or 17 kilometers and can be completed in one or two days. The trail is riddled with campsites. As a result, beginners will be fine.  

Chandrakhani Pass Trek 

Chandrakahani Pass Trek was a life-changing experience for me. The calmness and serenity in the air helped me shed the vestiges of my urban reality. The trail offers some of the most aesthetic views of the Pirpanjal Range and Deo Tibba. Therefore, the Chnadrakahani Pass Trek is one of the best treks in Himachal.  

Jakhu Temple Trek 

Jakhu Temple trek is more than just a trek. It is a pilgrimage to find your tarnished soul. Jakhu Temple is located on the highest peak of Shimla at around 2455 meters above sea level. The temple is adorned with a 108 feet tall statue of Lord Hanuman. Also, you can feed cute monkeys. This makes it a plus in my books.  

Prashar Lake Trek

The dominating Dhauladhar range of Kullu surrounds Prashar Lake. As a result, it is one of the best spots for shooting travelogues. The Prashar Lake Trek offers a 180-degree view of the Pirpanjal and the Kinnaur ranges. As a result, it will undoubtedly take your break away. Take a moment to sit and contemplate before you journey ahead. Trust me, you need it.  

Hampta Pass Trek 

Hampta Pass Trek might be an easy trek, but it is often overlooked. The trail is located around 14000 feet above sea level. As a result, this trail is only accessed by some shepherds and a handful of trekkers. Hence, you can easily have your ‘me’ time exploring the unbeaten paths of the Hampta Pass trek.  

Triund Trek 

Solo treks are the best. They offer you the right amount of isolation and a break from monotony. Hence, trails like Triund treks should be protected. The best part about the trek is that it takes around two days to complete. Thus, inexperienced trekkers can choose this trail as their next adventure. 

Bhrigu Lake Trek 

The Bhrigu Lake trek is one of the best and most underrated treks of Himachal. The trail is located at 14,000 feet above sea level. This is one of the highest treks in Himachal. No other treks would take you to such heights. As a result, it is one of the best and a must-visit trek.  

Pin Parvati Pass Trek 

Pin Parvati Trek is an excellent option for honing your trekking skills. I agree that this is a challenging trek in Himachal. However, the effort is worth the struggle. This is one of the longer treks in Himachal. The Pin Parvati trek takes around seven to nine days to complete. Therefore, you need to come prepared.  

Deo Tibba Base Camp 

Deo Tibba base camp is not for the faint-hearted. It would help if you were prepared and mentally strong in order to complete this trial. However, achieving the trail is not impossible. The trail is located around 20,000 ft above sea level and takes around six days to complete. Therefore, you need to be prepared for anything.  

Sar Pass Trek

Sar Pass Trek from Kasol is one of the best and most aesthetic treks in Himachal. It is known for its breathtaking visuals of the Himalayas and once-in-a-lifetime experience. The trail can be completed in just four or five days. As a result, it is perfect for beginners who are looking for something slightly challenging and rewarding at the same time.  

Chamba Trek 

Chamba Trek is one of the most accessible treks in Himachal. The trek begins at Dalhousie and takes hikers across a beautiful mountainous pass that covers parts of the Pir Panjal and Dhauladhar ranges. The pass is located at 3,270 ft above sea level and can be completed in just three days. As a result, it is perfect for beginners who want something light and less taxing. 

Dainkund Trek 

Dainkund Trek is one of the most prominent treks in the Dalhousie region. As per sources, the Dainkund Trek is one of the highest and most thrilling treks of all time. The Dainkund Trek offers a 360-degree view of the entire valley below. As a result, it is perfect for people who want to experience something ethereal.  

Great Himalayan National Park Trek 

The Great Himalayan National Park Trek is one of the best and most aesthetic treks in Himachal. It is a perfect trek for nature and animal lovers. The lush green forest, river crossing, snowy visage of the Himalayas, etc., make this trek an all-encompassing trek. The trail is located at 10,000 feet above sea level and will take around five days to complete.  

Waichin Valley
